5 months and $450 later, oven still not fixed

A&E Complaint

A&E is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They will not repair your appliance. They will only take your money for ineffective repairs and then claim the appliance works without properly test-running it.

This was the experience I had with A&E:

I called them to repair malfunctioning electronics on an Amana gas range. They came in April and replaced the electronics control unit and some other parts. The oven then started but shut down for no reason after about 30 min.

This was the beginning of numerous phone calls and repeat visits—none of which effectively addressed the issue.

After several visits over 4 months, and countless hours on the phone to A&E’s call center, I requested a refund.

A&E said they could only provide a refund if they had misdiagnosed the problem. They sent a technician over to look at the oven again. Once again their technician turned the oven on briefly and declared it worked.

A&E will not take the time to test an oven long enough to determine that it really functions.

They said they could only provide refund if a second opinion—paid for out of my own pocket—determined that it didn’t work.

At this point, having wasted $450, countless hours on the phone over four months, I decided to cut my losses and get a new oven.

STAY AWAY FROM A&E!
THEY WILL NOT REPAIR YOUR APPLIANCE!
THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT RESPOND TO YOU!
THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY!
THEY DIRECT YOU TO UNHELPFUL CALL CENTERS!
THEY WILL DO THEIR BEST TO AVOID RESPONSIBILITY!

PASS THIS MESSAGE ON SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE WILL NOT HAVE TO SUFFER AT THE HANDS OF A&E.
