Recently Verizon long distance phone service instituted a $2.00 per month service charge for NOT using the service which was previously no charge. I called to complain about the charge with no positive results and so I informed Verizon that I was not going to pay for something I do not use on a regular basis and requested they drop Verizon long distance from my account.

In my next month’s bill there appears a service charge of $5.50 as a fee for dropping my long distance service from my account. What in the world gives them the right and the gall to do this?

I have been a long time and loyal customer with Verizon. I stuck with them throughout the trials of breakup and restructuring. I have Verizon Fios internet service. I have Verizon Wireless phone service. I fully intended to sign up for Verizon Fios TV when I came available (not any more).

This is the thanks I get for giving them my business. I am seriously going to look for alternatives in the not too distant future. As a matter of fact I am open to suggestions.
