I had direct TV installed April 15,2007 under your special that I would receive a free DVR. I had to put up the initial 100.00 dollars with the understanding that within 6-8 weeks I would receive a 100.00 rebate by mail.

well within that 6-8 weeks I received 2 cards from the rebate department stating that I did not have a valid receiver. I talked with several and I mean several people in customer service department who assured me that I did qualify for the rebate. oh did I mention that on the cards I received my name was misspelled.(but is always spelled correctly on the bill amazing isn't it) any way 13 weeks later I receive a check with my last name spelled so wrong I can't do anything with it no account number is on it so I can't even prove ownership of the check again for the last month I again have talked to several people in your customer service department without any resolution only how sorry they are and they would make sure I received another check with my name spelled correctly.

I have saved all correspondence as well as the check’s would like to know what is being done to correct this I feel I have been very patient but they are wearing thin I’m sick of hearing I’m sorry I want some results.

how can you trust a company to do your rebates and have someone sign the check without some kind of spelling check. this has gone on to long without resolution. I expect a corrected check immediately. due to the fact that
every supervisor I talked to in customer service claims they put a message on the computer to correct the matter I’m sure you should have no problem finding how to reach me. oh and I was also told I would be contacted by phone from someone who handles these matters I have yet to hear from anyone. I would like someone to resolve this matter immediately.

I became a Direct TV customer in August of 2006 through my phone service with Verizon. I just moved to WV from SC and Verizon was offering this service in the area I moved to. I was told that we would get local channels, which we have never been able to get with Direct TV.

Even after submitting several waivers. Unfortunately in WV it is hard to get local channels in the mountains unless you live in a big city (ours is a population of 7000) or go with Dish Network.

So we decided to do just that and switch from Direct to Dish Network on Sept. 1. Direct TV is now trying to charge me an early disconnect fee even though I had them for over a year and never once received or signed any paperwork with Direct TV. This was all done through Verizon. How can they charge for something I never signed or agreed to? Or for that matter was ever informed of from Direct TV or Verizon upon hook-up.

I live in Atlanta Ga. I became a direct tv customer in Feb 08. Its been the worst experiece. I had them install it in my new home, which is completly new, and prewired for direct tv. and the installer drilled a hole in the middle of my new wooden floor. Although they took pictures, I am now getting the run around on when there going to pay for the damages

Direct TV sent the wrong equipemnt (not RF) as required. They sent an RF remote but the box was not RF so they told me I need a different box. Since I was a new customer I had to pay $283.21 up front and they would then credit my account for that amount. Did the deal and checked two days later and still no credit on my account. For 4 days I was promised my systerious "Managers" that it was a done, but unusual, deal. Until yesterday they daid no way could someone have told me that and that no one a direct could credit me that large an amount. They are now running me around some credit department thing, but I know it will not happen. If it does not the FCC is my only choice, but my Senator and Congressman (both state and federal will get copies.
Any other suggestions to make them stand up and stand behind their word?

I had similar responses from Direct TV regarding rebates, with a different excuse given to me for not paying it every time I called, including "Our computer is not set up properly yet to handle this rebate, but you do qualify for it".  I have heard lie after lie.  Then they totally cut off my service on June 28, and now deny that it was cut-off!!  Worst television service I have ever had, with near daily outages. Now they are threatening to bill me $400 for breaking the contract, when they, in fact, broke the contract.  I filed 2 complaints on this with the FCC, have backup documentation.  I hope the FCC does something about this!!!

Now Direct TV sent me a bill for $850, and threatening to turn over for collection for "breaking the contract", and sent a letter full of lies and denials about the whole situation.  I have turned it into the Michigan Attorney General's Office, and am waiting for their response.

    Very Upset
I, too, have been misinformed and misdirected by Direct TV representatives....The customer service leaves MUCH to be desired. My experience with this company and their information regarding its contracts have been a nightmare.  Please consider any other cable provider that may be reputable!

    Direct Tv watch your bill
I Agree with everyone. I am assured my complaint has been documented connected to another person, then another person, have to repeat he same problem, another waiting game and promise of credit on the bill. Instead of $150 credit i got. $5 credit. Repeat as above next month. I have finally hit my limit. Tv is not worth it
