When reluctantly considering signing up for Direct TV after several year hiatus, I went through the motion of ordering a package on-line.  Direct TV site states that some discounts are for on-line only orders.  I later found out that any offer on-line is offered via phone as well.  Also, I came to a screen that asks for my social security number.  I did not choose to enter it on-line.  I read that if you do not enter your SS # you may be charged a fee based on your credit history.  My credit history is impeccable.  After you enter your credit card to place the order, I found that they had charged my credit card $300 because of credit history.  Are you kidding me?  I also placed the order in my husbands name (head of household) and they will not cancel the order unless he makes the call, even though I have the confirm. number, it is my e-mail address associate with the order, etc.    Hate Direct TV.
