This company owes me a refund. Customer Service sucks. Never signed up for this stuff.  I most likely will never get a refund.  I want to file a law suit!!!!

This is a common scam often associated with overpriced "health products", especially those promoted on-line through "free trial" offers.

Dispute unauthorized charges through your bank, and close the account or block the card number due to fraud to prevent additional fraudulent charges.

same happened to me, file an online complaint with BBB, they got be a full refund on the credit card charges.  Here is a copy of their response:

Thank you for contacting Guthy|Renker through the Better Business Bureau. We received your inquiry and sincerely apologize for any miscommunication. We take these complaints very seriously and appreciate the time you have taken to let us know about your experience. We make every effort to be forthcoming regarding our promotions and offers for Proactiv® via the website, TV infomercials, inbound sales phone line, print materials, product packaging and billing. The offer on the website for $19.95 per month refers to the Proactiv® 3-piece kit. Our records indicate that you opted for the Proactiv® 5-piece kit, therefore making the monthly cost $29.95. Per the terms of the online offer, your second Proactiv® shipment was sent on October 11, 2012 for a total of $99.84 to be billed in three installments over three consecutive billing cycles. The first payment of $39.94 (included $9.99), was charged at the time of shipping, leaving a balance of $59.90. In an effort to fully resolve this matter, I have issued a refund of $39.94 and cleared the $59.90 balance. This credit will show as two separate transactions, one in the amount of $29.95, and the other for $9.99 (s&h). Please allow 3-5 business days for this credit to post. Your Proactiv® account is now closed with no further balance owed. Nothing further will be shipped or billed. Sincerely, Manager of Consumer Affairs

except its sad that by their response you simply forgot to cancel your trial offer and then you stuck them with the cost of the items you did in fact order. As I am sure you did not send them back and most likely used them! good job buddy. And this is still giving you the benefit of the doubt that you "forgot" to cancel, and didn't do this intentionally too.

I did just order the trial of proactive and it came with the trial of vitaclear... As I don't like things automatically billed and there is a kiosk to purchase these things locally ( I just cant take part in the trial offers that way) I did call to cancel my accounts/ shippements after my items arrived... I had no problem cancelling either the proactive or the vitamins and I find both to work quite well and will continue using them.

I do believe yours is a common case of not wanting to take responsibility for your own actions. good day.

I too ordered proactive and got the free trial of vitaclear along with the green tea moisturizer and several other products. This is NOT a case of not wanting to take responsibility.

After I received my products I went to cancel the vitaclear. The customer service rep took 30 minutes of trying to get me to not cancel and then said my account was cancelled. Next month I received a new shipment of vitaclear and was charged for it. This is a simple scam. Just because it worked well for you doesn't mean others are faking it.

I am investigating Guthy Renker's practice of billing consumers for Vitaclear without authorization.  If you are willing to discuss your experience, please feel free to contact me at uidstrom@eurekalawfirm.com.

Vita Clear ....the product does not work and the company keeps sending me  products and charging my credit card without my authorization ...... .today I called to cancel everything and they cancelled the vitamins they were sending me....but didn't mention canceling their other products.....so I thought I better call them back to make sure all of their products were cancelled....they were not....they had only canceled the vitamins and were trying to slip one by me and wanted to keep sending me their other products  ......Thank God I noticed that they only mentioned vitamins the first call.....I hope everything is cancelled now.....but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't..... in my opinion this company is nothing but a common thief.....the lowest form of life....

I had a very bad experience with Proactive as well. I ordered their Vitaclear pills and then started to see numerous charges to my credit card. I reported it to my bank and they started monitoring it. Calling Pro-Active Customer Service was crazy, they kept you on hold for too long. Eventually i ended up cancelling my credit card so no more charges could be made.
