Misrepresentation of product defects and repair delays via warranty

Our Maytag dishwasher is about 2 y/o. The circuit board and connecting wire was fried (likely from poor design that does not encapsulate the parts well and protect from moisture). Singed black, fire hazard? This was discovered when the repair person removed the front panel. Evidently this is common in other models with similar design and Maytag knew this (omitted it) and talked me into an expensive extended warranty; only to have the parts now on backorder for several weeks. Our machine will be sitting for a month yet the person who sold me the contract strongly implied that the repair would be timely and painless. We  relied on this Maytag representative to disclose any possible defects (safety concerns) so we could opt to get a different product. We relied on this Maytag representative to also be honest about the repair timeframe. What we got was scammed. We want to cancel the contract (without paying the claim costs or fees) and buy another dishwasher or have the entire unit replaced PROMPTLY with a dishwasher that is not predisposed to the defect.
