Beware of National Business Radio FM (www.nbrfm.com) This latest internet radio scam is brought to you by the founders of ASHFORD RADIO, SPOTLITE RADIO, EMPIRE RADIO NOW and WRNW1. All of these have folded and all have disconnected phone numbers. After so many online complaints, the owner kills them off and starts over.
It's still the same approach. Radio prospects are cold called and given an 8 Minute Free Radio Show. Minutes after the show ends, a salesman phones, saying " you had a great rating!" and that THE PHONES WERE RINGING OFF THE HOOK! You're tricked into buying a radio series. But It's based on nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Eventually, NBRFM will be killed off too, but don't forget the pitch because the scam will come back with a new company name. 8 Minute Show then Phone Ringing Off the Hook then Sales Pitch. Remember!
Lies are told in droves by the salesmen, we've read, such as Dr. Oz getting his start at NBRFM or that Poland Spring Water, one of our sponsors (yeah sure) will put up part of the cost to do a radio series if you put up the rest.
America, THERE ARE NO SPONSORS. It's all made up.
America, THERE ARE NO MASS LISTENERS. That's made up too.
That's the whole point of this enterprise. To lie and cheat you.
Federal wire fraud is real, however, and happens every single day at this place. Should you have the misfortune of doing a free show and get phoned back immediately, let the salesman know that you're recording the phone call for quality assurance. Watch how fast the phone goes dead.
The NBRFM web site is a joke in itself. There is no ABOUT section, that would give people an idea of who they're dealing with.

I used to be a "radio host" back when the company changed to Business talk radio. He did not pay his employees including me for several weeks and always made different excuses. I had no idea of the sales scams he was doing until towards the end. When I pressed him on getting paid and called him out for his scamming methods, he fired me.
