Bad Advice from Customer Service Representative

I have been a faithful Rogers user for years, even after multiple frustrations with dropped service. Recently, I switched my service to another company because of work. Before doing so, I called Rogers to ask if I was under any kind of contract. Their customer service representative said no. I proceeded to cancel, only to get a $450 bill for a cancellation fee, and was told by the manager, in so many words, that I should have read the contract. I had not signed a contract, but it was implied in the 3-year plan that I was on. Do yourself a favour, never, ever use Rogers as your wireless carrier.
