I received a email yesterday with all my personal information on there. My question is how they got this information? I will find a way to press charges against these cowards.

Did the email come from a free email address like yahoo, gmail, outlook? If it was actually from the United Nations, it would come from a un.org address.
They could have obtained your info from your Facebook page, if you have one.. or from a hacked database (have you applied for a loan or credit card in the past, or put a resume/CV online?)
The scammers are likely in another country and will be hard to find, let alone prosecute.

A source of scam id theft..
One source of id information used in scams is fake or shady "payday loan" websites.  Consumers who enter SSN, DOB, and bank account information on such sites, supposedly to "apply for a payday loan", may find themselves not only bombarded with scam "lenders" attempting to con them out of "fees" for such "loans", but also scammers attempting to extort payment for what they claim are "old payday loans", using the very information they supplied to attempt to convince them the "old loan" is real.
