On April 2009 I discovered a withdrawl from my bank account of $19.95 from wc Homeplay I called the bank.  They told me this charge was taked out of my account in Feburary, March, and also that day. I then called the 1-800-566-8640 number.  I told them that I had never ordered a service in which provides you with discounts and benefits ect.  They now say they will send me a form to fill out so i can get reinburst for the money they withdrew from my account.  I will believe it when I see it.  Has anyone else filled one of these forms out?? And has anyone received money back that has filled out one of these forms??

Always check your bank statements.  I discovered wc Homeplay is withdrawing $19.95 from my checking account without my purchase from me, and without my knowledge.  I have no clue how the got my bank account number.  I called 1-800-566-8640 they told me they would send me a form to fill out and I would receive my money back.  Has anyone filled out one of these forms and has received their money back???

Do NOT wait for their form before filing a written dispute with your bank.

Under FRB Reg. E, which governs electronic fund transfers from checking accounts, you have 60 days from the statement showing a disputed charge to file that dispute in writing with your bank.  If you miss that 60 day period, your bank does not have to assist you in refunding unauthorized charges, so you should ALWAYS dispute all unauthorized or fraudulent charges immediately in writing with your bank.

Some sleazy companies have been known to string consumers along for a month or two, saying they are "investigating", or even that they will send a refund, but "it takes 6 to 8 weeks".  They may be taking advantage of most consumers lack of knowledge of the dispute rules, knowing that once 60 days passes, it is unlikely they will have to part with the money since the charges are too small to be worth suing over.

If you have ANY problems or delays, your best response is to go balistic.  Contact your state AG, the FTC, the AG in their state, and BBB.  File complaints with all of them, in writing, and in your complaints make very clear the charges are fraudulent, you never authorized them or were even aware of this company, and include copies of your bank dispute to establish the date you filed your initial dispute.  Include all promises, deceptive or false statements, or abusive responses you may have received in trying to resolve the charge.
