Royal Resort and sister company QIT took ownership of Pelican Resort under questionable (i.e. fraudulent) circumstances, took as many maintenance fees for 2011 as they could, and then fired all the local workers. When forced by the court to take the workers back they shut down the resort!

Effective 2/20/2011 Pelican now known as SIMPSON BAY RESORT is not open for business. Owners are out of luck if they already spent money on a planned vacation that will not happen now.

Avoid getting involved in any ROYAL RESORT PROPERTY if you can.

Contact FTC, and your state Attorney General.

They may have a sales presence in the U.S. that might be selling memberships in this or other resorts under common ownership.

I am one of the majority shareholders of Royal Resorts. I can tell you the employees were dismissed cause they were a lazy lot of [***]. It's that simple.Removing these [***] benefitted the company as well as are guests.

There are good time shares out there. However, most of them have a waiting list of qualified buyers to purchase when the owners decide to sell.....If it’s being heavily promoted, pushed or tarted up to look good, assume its trash and don't waste your time. If you want a good time share, you will still have to pay for it but go through legitimate channels.. These are good articles on how to use timeshare properly:
