I signed up to pay .95 to do a look up with Intelius.  They charged me $4.95 and then I find a charge on my Visa card for this 24 Protect Plus.  I did not order this. This is outright fraud.  How can these scumbags get away with this?  Where the hell is the FCC?

Immediately contact your bank to dispute any fraudulent or unauthorized charge, and close the account to prevent additional future fraud.  Follow up with a WRITTEN DISPUTE to the dispute address on your statement, making sure your bank receives it within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge to preserve your FRB Reg. E or FCBA dispute rights.

I just got ripped off by the same company - now my account is overdrawn as I used my debit card to pay their $.95 charge and now they have charged it $19.95. I was sure I had cancelled the trial membership when they sent me an email - even have a confirmation of the cancellation - doesn't matter, another one of their companies charged me. They are rip off artists. I will have to cancel my bank account tommmrow and then hope I can get another card before my few bills I pay on line come due.

See information referenced here on Senate investigation into cramming of fraudulent charges by "membership club" scams using account information passed from "marketing partners".
