Washing machine shreds clothes

My whirlpool duet has shredded many articles of clothing every load of laundry. Very disappointed!! The most expensive set of appliances I have ever bought and they are junk two drain pumps, heating element in the dryer and now this! Wow whrilpool! Never again will I buy your product!
