Maytag series 3000 washer

We bought a new Maytag series 3000 washer in April of 2013. This past Feb. of 2015 it started sounding like it was grinding rocks when it spun out. After reading the numerous complaints on line we knew it was the bearing and would have to be junked. After another month of use it started smoking when it spun out along with the noise. We cut our losses and bought a Speed Queen that is still made in America(Wisconsin) and has a three year warranty on the whole unit and longer on select parts. Today it was raining so I couldn't work in the yard, I took this opportunity to tear down the Maytag and see what the issue is with it. I'm a businessman and NOT an engineer but after tearing down the Maytag series 3000 I'm amazed that it lasted the short time it did.  There are high school students in this country that could tell you the drum of the washing machine will put to much load on the bearing Maytag put in it. After years of buying the Maytag name, no more for this family, they ruined an American icon that used to really mean dependability.
