Cutting holes and Ripping my clothes apart

I can only echo the sentiments of so many other whirlpool customers.  The amount of money and repair shelled out for a young  washer that should run without  hitches for at least 6-10 years is incredible.  I've spend hundreds of $ in repairs and thrown out way to many clothes.  Don't know what to do and especially since it is a know problem, how come there is not a recall like there are for cars.  I guess lives are not in danger so it does not matter.
