Healthcare insurance calls - 17 DIFFERENT numbers

HOLY COW!!! I need some help here... I've been slammed with calls in the last month from the following 17 DIFFERENT numbers.  Although I've been unable to track some of them, many of these numbers found in google-land led me to healthcare insurance solicitation.  When I finally answered a few calls, the callers asked for Kiley (whereas Kiley is NOT my name.)

I've googled the girl's entire name (as one of the callers told me the last name) and there's a few in my state... so maybe it was an inadvertent mistake that's causing my phone to blow up the last month. So did someone apply for health insurance quote using my cell number?  Or is this a new way for solicitors to get through?  According to DNC Registry, I've been on DNC list since 10/30/2007.

Sure, I can file a complaint... but that would require answering each of them before filing the 17 complaints.  Sure, I can find a way to filter out the calls (Verizon allows me blocking 5 - but when I rotated them out after 4 days, the numbers previously blocked where then called in.  It's like plugging one hole in the boat and another leak pops through.)

How can I track down the source to stop ALL solicitation calls?  There has to be a database they're using, right?

Do Not Call violations have been increasing drastically in the last several months.

Increased use of cheap VoIP, which also allows for use of many different numbers that get around call blocking, may be one factor in this increase.

Very few, and recent, complaints against your numbers are consistent with this.
See, for example, a small sampling of complaints:
    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-315-5618
    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-971-217-9595

Most of this illegal robocalling is probably due to a small number of violators, who are depending on hiding their identities behind multiple numbers and various company names, even spoofing their caller id with fake numbers, and probably with some part of the operation overseas, totally ignoring the Do Not Call laws.

If they are calling to reach a specific person, but routinely violating the Do Not Call laws, they are probably buying lists, or collecting them from on-line white pages or similar.  They might cloud the violations by claiming they are buying "scrubbed" lists, but refusing to disclose who they are even buying them from.

If they don't know who they are calling, they are probably just calling blocks of numbers, like the "Rachel" robocallers.

Such blatant violations are usually accompanied by fraudulent offers.  If this is for "health insurance", then it may be just a scam to charge victims for worthless "medical discount cards" that no pharmacy even takes.  Those are often run from out of the country, often Canada, in order to put barriers in the way of prosecution or getting money back.

Sample some of the calls, tell the callers to stop calling, and start filing FTC complaints.

    Thanks for the info TJ...

I answered the latest robo call (706-410-2326) and it was WAY more sophisticated than I had expected.  The "person" I initially talked to said she (Carley) had to transfer me - as they were a new employee... and the 2nd "person" had to transfer me before sending my call to someone who manages my state.  These 2 "people" sounded like computer generated voices and had a few second delay between my question and their response.  VERY CREEPY!

Then the 3rd person (Casey definitely sounded real) said it may have been a simple mistake... that someone may have entered the wrong number on a website... but that they all share the same lists... and unfortunately, I'll have to tell each company to remove me... he then asked me if I needed insurance, to which I replied, "Nope."

When I asked what the name of his company was, he said, "Level 1."  but then immediately changed it to "National Enrollment"... I asked which one was the name of his company and he said "We're a national enrollment agency."  I again asked for the name of his company... and guess what I got... hmmmm... if you guessed "disconnected call", then you'd be right!!!

So I'm taking your advice TJ... answering/sampling and reporting.

      Orlando,
I am in the same boat as you.  My unpublished phone number also blew up over the course of the last month.  Beginning on 3/5/2012, many of the same numbers on your list have called repeatedly, never leaving a message. Each one is related to "insurance," though I've never called or requested a quote online.  I can block up to 20 numbers, but I've got about 25 different numbers calling in, I also tried to cycle through the list and drop the oldest numbers and add the newest.  As you learned, not an effective strategy because the older numbers just started calling again. I'm have to take TJ's advise and start filing complaints.  The volume of calls is overwhelming and annoying, but I do take some comfort in realizing that I am not alone in having my phone attacked by these same numbers.
Thanks to both of you for posting your comments.

Same thing here 3-4 calls a day, if you press 1 then a person comes on and if you ask name of company they hang up.  I faked the need for insurance and after 5 min got the name of the company-  American life shield.  or at least that is what the "licensed broker"    I have taken to messing with them since they are invading my privacy.
