Rust on Refrigerator Doors

I've had my Whirlpool refrigerator since December 2015, and the front doors are showing rust across the majority of the exterior.  This is a "Stainless Steel" Whirlpool refrigerator, that is in my temperature controlled kitchen.  How is it this is rusting this fast?  Even a cheap grade of stainless wouldn't do this.  Is this just a crappy product put out by a once good company that is on a downward spiral, or just a manufacturing issue that Whirlpool intends to remedy to support its own good name.  I would hate to think that Whirlpool would sell a lousy product and not be willing to stand behind it.
