Actually, legally you didn't "agree" to any such charges.  They just tell you that to get rid of some of the pesky people trying to get their money back.  Whatever "terms" they disclosed, they made sure to do so in as obscure a way as possible to make sure no one would actually know it.

They set out to con you, with a deceptive offer to get your account information, intending to cram as many charges as they could before you got wise and closed your account.

The "gas card" is a sham, with enough hoops to jump through it's worthless, and they can still "lose" your requests for the "gas refunds".  The "one time fee of 2.95" was only to get your account information, so all the other monthly charges could be much larger.  The "cancellation" process is a sham, and as you found, they "mistakenly" provide a wrong number as an additional barrier.  The whole scheme is rigged to ensure you could never get $200 in "gas refunds" before cancelling with no additional charges.  In fact, the monthly charges are guaranteed to eat up your account faster than the "gas refunds" will put anything back, assuming you actually got any "gas refunds".

These creeps sent me a text last week. Called twice this week - calls I missed. I answered today and it's exactly what I read here. They had the last 4 digits of a card we just had cancelled due to fraudulent charges! Very profesional until you don't give them what they want. the phone numbers were -- 866-938-9167 and 231-732-2731.
