Number reassigned without notice

My mothers number has been reassigned without any notice. The number has been actively used and charged enough for service. It's a prepaid number. All of a sudden in a matter of 2 days number is not registered and now someone else is using the number. This is a matter of privacy concern, the number of calls going through to the number for 10 bloody years!! I m lodging a complaint with the police if I don't get the service back.

    My name is Saqib Ahmed. I have an Airtel prepaid connection 9686465890 that I had been using since 2009.

    For the last eight months I have been travelling abroad and I find that my number seems to have been reassigned to someone else.
    This number is linked to my bank accounts and other accounts. How do I get this back?

    sir we paid for new broad band connection on friday 11th of march saled co ordinator comited me connection wiil be fix within  24 hrs but no body calked me. Then we called sales person they told me we will fix it on suday .After one salesmsn called me they told me they will fix it on monday.Now still no body called me still sales man no 9840300260  another no9500010004  cutomer no 7338716076
