left stranded
Country: Greece
While traveling in asia it seems the citibank in greece blocked my account in thier attempt to stop the run on the banks leaving me stranded without access to cash from my account,
Till now i have spent over 7 hours on the phone from the citibank in bangkok calling customer services and the employees at the branch in kalamata to no avail,
Thier way of stone walling is when you connect with someone they will put you on hold saying they will connect you with another person responcible...then while listening to mozart for 5 minutes the line gets cut! In all 5 times they asked for my mobile number promising to call back with a solution but never bothered to call me,
Each time i call again its the same procedure from the beginning,
I have to admit the staff at the citibank in bangkok have been very helpfull and patient although also very confused at the dismal non action of the greek citibank staff,
It seems now as the emergency cash offered is only 1000$ after paying my hotel bill i will have to go to my embassy and apply for repatriation.
