Membership I don't want

I've written several requests to stop my membership at the Cooking club of America. I no longer want to be associated with this company after the treatment I am getting.

I've tried emailing them, writing to them. I searched for their phone number but didn't find any. They continue sending me bills, magazines, and books I am not interested in, and which I have to return.

I am wasting a lot of time trying to stop this "membership". I've also received a letter saying my account will be passed to collectors if I don't pay. Think before you enroll into this program. Your time, money, and credit score can be greatly effected.

I'm surprised to hear you say that you can't find a phone number for them.  First, it is on the back of your membership card.  If you don't have that, you can go to their website and enter your last name and member number (which I'm sure you must have as you would have needed to reference it when you wrote to them to have them cancel it)then click "contact us" and you will get the number there.  FYI it is 888-850-8202.

The only problem I have with them is that they constantly send me requests to upgrade my membership to LIFETIME status.  No thanks. I love the magazine that comes with the membership and have made several of the recipes.  Everything I've made was delicious!

That phone number is out of service.  All of us who paid for lifetime membership have been defrauded because suddenly magazines stopped, and there is no refund.  I put my complaint with information on pissedconsumer.com in case someone decides to put together a class action lawsuit.

At least you got a complaint in at pissed consumer they told me I had to send them an original link before my complaint was accepted I signed on as a lifetime member pretty close to the beginning of the magazine.  There wasn’t a link I got physical magazines. I guess they stopped that magazine and started another.  Too bad it was pretty good.  I never got to test anything good either.  I don’t think there is anything we can do about that.  Pretty messed up if they kept on taking lifetime members up until the time they shut down.

I signed up for and paid for a membership in Cooking Club of America.  I called a month later to ask why I had not received either a magazine or the free products I was promised although I continued to receive advertisements from them telling me I had a "second chance" to upgrade my membership and get "more" free products.

When I called I got someone whose command of the English language was marginal.  I got apologies and rudeness at the same time.  I asked for my free products, I asked for my magazine, I got words and nothing happened.

I waited another month and a half and received nothing except advertising encouraging me to become a life member.  I received none of the products I was promised.  I received nothing for testing.  I called.  The automated system informed me that my account is current.  The customer No Service representative I got stuck with told me she showed I cancelled my account in July which is an outright lie.

I expressed my complete frustration and exasperation with the treatment and having been stolen from and defrauded.  I asked to have my sign up products and magazines sent to me immediately and I was told that couldn't happen.

Cooking Club of America cheated me out of $12.  They stole that money from me as surely as if they had stuck a gun in my face and ripped off my wallet.  They defrauded me by promising me a magazine, sign up products, bonus products, and I got none of it.

DO NOT JOIN.  IT IS A RIP OFF AND THEY HAVE NO PLAN FOR MAKING ANYTHING RIGHT WHEN THEY GET CAUGHT ! ! !

I agree Sallie, this is a rip-off. I have been trying for over a month to contact anyone with half a brain and who could understand the English language. I too get all the " I'm sorry and what can I do to make this right speech." All I want is no more bills for something I never received in the first place. Something is so wrong with these people.

I put my complaint and membership info on pissedconsumer.com in the hopes someone with legal credentials decides to put together a class action lawsuit.  I paid the $300 for the lifetime membership.

I have been a member for 4years and yet to test a product all I keep getting from this club is letters to upgrade.
I spent enough money just to join and this is a useless club.  The last time I asked about testing I was told I have to register for every test product.  I thought when I paid the $300 and some dollars to join that I would automatically be able to test.  Why should I pay another $200 or more to upgrade when I have NO SATISFACTION from joining the first time.  To me this is a very disgusting club and I wish I would have never joined, could have used the money elsewhere if I would have known how disappointing this membership is!

This company is a con-game and will do nothing but steal your money.  You will not receive high quality products, if you get anything at all.  Take you money and go to Home Goods and buy high quality pots and pans at a great discount. The magaine is no longer published.  Crooks!  The BBB gives them a grade of "F"

I was going through a box of my granddaughter's clothes and found an invitation to join Cooking Club of America, that must have fallen in the box 5 yrs ago when I moved. I had been planning to join but forgot all about it when I misplaced the invitation.  And you know what? After reading all of these comments and complaints, I am sooo glad I lost the invitation. All I can say is someone must have been watching out for me!

As the former CEO of Cooking Club of America, I'm still living fat off all the money I fleeced from all you suckers!  I ran this business out of my garage, and couldn't believe there were enough idiots in America to keep sending me dues, but boy am I glad I was wrong!  Well, at least those Indian guys I hired to answer the customer service line were happy!  I paid them fifty cents a day!

    You people are SO EASY!

Just kidding, all that stuff I wrote is not true.  I'm just some guy reading comments.  But you are all suckers!

According to Google, you are dead anyway.  You don't even have the balls to show your true self. But, do you even know who you are for real???? Lol

We're not suckers.  We were defrauded after beginning to receive the lifetime membership we paid for, and then suddenly not with no refund.  You, on the other hand, are an [***].
