AT&T took over Alltel in Elko, NV last Dec 2010. Since then I never receive my bills until 1-6 days before it is due. I live in a rural area and only go to town and collect my mail from the post office abt twice a week. The last bill I received on the date it was due 4/28/11. I wrote a check & paid the bill that day. Another late notice dated Apr 3rd was received 4/13/11, not counting the messages that they send on my cell phone saying that my payment has not been received and my account is "at risk for suspension." If suspended then they will charge me $36. for reinstate. AT&T phone service is the worst cell service I've ever had. I will cancel them before they cancel me. I've never had a bill by mail that I've not received in adequate time to make the payment. Call me old-fashioned but I write my checks & mail them. I think they want to bully people into an automatic payment from a bank account or credit card, neither of which I would trust with a company that cannot get me a bill on time!
