A man, identifying himself as John Newman (with a foriegn accent) called from Fitch TX.  806-397-3992.  He stated that today I would receive a certified check for 2.8 million dollars.  He solicited $450 to cover the remaining cost of transferring the funds and stated that the person arriving would give me a ride to my bank before it closed so the funds would be released.  I am writing to simply post this incident.  I told him to pass it on; I am not interested.

    It's a scam..
    A lot of these fake "lottery" scams are reported to originate from Jamaica, with calls from 876 area codes.
    If he's got a Jamaican accent, he might still actually be calling from there, using cheap VoIP to appear to be calling from "Texas".
