I participated in one of those, get this free with participating with 2 of these offers, I feel really stupid cuz i gave them my credit card number and in the middle of it, i decided it wasnt worth it and cancelled out of it but next thing i knew, i was being charged by poster pass.
And I wasnt expecting it cuz i thought if i cancelled out of the site, everything will be ok but nooooo!!!!
They charged me like 40 bucks for 2 posters, and they said it was supposed to be 2 dollars each, i dint even get to choose the posters. And I called them and they said they will cancel it, a few months later i get more posters! and I owe them like 100 dollars now and again, the posters were stupid and i dint even choose them. They charged me if i have gotton them every month from the day i cancelled them but its been months since then so basically they been charging me for no apparent reason.
I went on their website and they are no longer available to talk to by phone, now u have to go to refunds@peel.com, which i couldnt find. All i can find are everyones complaints on this fraud, i just want my money back!

Shipping product you did not order does not make the charges legitimate.  Instead, using shipments, whether via U.S. Mail or common carrier, as part of a fraudulent scheme just makes it mail fraud.  For example, a number of scams ship toner without authorization, then send fraudulent bills to small businesses at inflated prices.  Under Postal Service regulations, the unrequested toner is a "gift", and the illegitimate invoices are fraudulent unmailable matter, i.e. mail fraud.

They fraudulently shipped you past product through deceptive representations of the price.  You cancelled that order, after which they no longer had any legitimate authorization to charge your account, even though they still had the account information.

They now are sending you product and charging your account without authorization.  The product, since it is unordered, is a "gift", and you have no obligation to accept it, or to return it.  The charges are fraudulent, since they had no authorization to make them.

You do not have to depend on a merchant giving your money back when dealing with fraudulent charges.  Federal law allows you to dispute unauthorized or fraudulent charges, either under FRB Reg. E for checking accounts, or under FCBA for credit cards, directly with your bank.

To dispute under these provisions, you must dispute promptly, generally within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge.  You should contact your bank IMMEDIATELY to dispute, and then follow up with a written dispute sent to the dispute address from your statement to preserve your federal dispute rights.

Under U.S. Postal regulations, you do not have any obligation to the posters that you did not order, so if they charge you, report it as fraudulent, to FTC, state Attorneys General, your bank, etc.  Since the scam involves shipments, whether by U.S. Mail or by common carrier such as UPS or FedEx, also report it to the U.S. Postal Inspector as mail fraud.

As you found out, the company behind this is Peel, Inc.

They have been engaged in deceptive marketing of a range of products, from coffee to posters to magazines, for years.  They have recently been reported to have "reactivated" old cancelled accounts, resulting in a new wave of complaints of unauthorized charges.

Dispute fraudulent charges through your bank, and close your account due to fraud to prevent additional fraudulent charges.

I closed my account with posterpass.com in June 2008.  Imagine my suprise when I rec'd not one but 2 new orders in Nov and Dec of 2009.  I tried calling and only got voice mail.  I recently went to their web site to try to contact them and gave me this new website refunds@peel.com.  What a joke. I pulled it up but cannot get thru to write my complaint.  I mailed the posters back at my expense with delivery confirmation.  They're not there.  So who knows where the darn posters are now.  I contacted my credit card co, to refute the charges in the amount of $168.00.  Why would I pay that kind of money for 4 posters!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recent messages on their various websites indicate they may be shutting down, so do NOT depend on contacting the company to get your money back.

Dispute fraudulent charges through your bank, and close your account due to fraud to prevent additional fraudulent charges.

Be sure to dispute through your bank immediately, since then your bank can reverse fraudulent charges under FRB Reg. E for debit cards or checking accounts, or FCBA for credit cards.

Illinois Attorney General Madigan has sued Peel, Inc. and its president, Brian Dale.

    http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/pressroom/2010_02/20100217b.html

If you lost money due to unauthorized charges, file a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General, but still make sure you dispute any charges through your bank immediately, since if the company turns out to be insolvent, bank disputes within 60 days may still push the loss back on this company's payment processor and retrieve your money.
