I never authorized these [***] to send me automatic shipments. I am contacting my state's attorney's general, filing a complaint, and going to the bank to reverse the charges

Complaints consistent with a typical "free trial" cramming scam.

Typically, cramming scams are set up with websites designed to hide disclosure of the cramming terms so that most consumers don't see them, and then put barriers in the way of actually being able to cancelling once you catch their crammed charges and try to cancel.

Here is how a similar scam was set up:
    http://dazzlesmile.com/press/First%20Amended% ... 003-22-2010.pdf
    "...
    73. Optimal told Epic that it would not say “free” in connection with the dazzlesmile promotion as the customers were obligated to pay some money. Epic agreed to that condition, but mandated that the terms and conditions for the auto-ship for additional product be placed in a specific place on the landing page (in lightly grayed, fine print text below and/or out-of-sight of the credit card input fields) or on a separate page on dazzlesmile’s home page, found only by a link at the bottom of the trial offer landing page(s).
    ..."

In this case, although not as blatant as the above case, their autoshipment charges and details are buried in the middle of a paragraph several paragraphs into the "terms and conditions", through a fine print link.  A fine print disclosure of some of the terms is on the credit card entry page, with the amount buried within the paragraph in smaller font than the prominent "shipping" charge disclosure.

"going to the bank to reverse the charges"
Be sure to contact the company promptly, to cancel and request a refund under their "30 day refund" policy.  Make sure if you do not get a prompt refund that you have filed a written dispute with your bank within the 60 day FRB Reg. E or FCBA dispute period, regardless of any promises.

If you have problemes, file a complaint with FTC and your state Attorney General.

I consider this a typical internet scam with intent to profit from people who fail to read a novel of notices hidden from the advertisement. I intend to file a complaint with Utah attorney general as well with American Express to reverse charges from this unauthorized shipment and charges.
