Many years ago I had a computer with CA Antivirus. That computer has long died; I have not been using the antivirus software for a number of years, but I am still getting charged for annual software renewal. At one stage I was able to locate a phone number and had the charge cancelled and i though that would cancel it forever!! How wrong I was
I complained to my bank who investigated the matter and I received a reply in writing. With the delay in postal deliveries, I had about 3-4 days to respond in writing - not much time when you are extremely busy with work.
The billing and shipping address is to my husband who has never had his own computer until about 12 months ago and has never used this particular antivius. The email address is about 7-8 years out of date and therefore I have not received a Tax Invoice for these supposed software annual subscriptions.
I now can't find enough information to even send an email or phone the company concerned - it is just a total rip-off. I think my information has been "sold" to a money collecting firm and they just debit the account each year and change the entity to make it difficult to trace down the actual company.
