continued automated calls from this number 630-995-9758, for my daughter or me after being on hold several times i hung up. today someone answered they would not give me any details as to why they were calling other than a private business matter.
the individuals name was kimberly _ _ _ _ _, of dynia associates. she wanted my daughter to call them at 888-335-6492 ext. _ _.
I ask what type of business and was told various.
she wanted to know if i was her father . i told her yes
she wanted to know if she lived here. i told her i don't know
she ask that i have my daughter contact them
i returned the call to the phone number i was given and it was answered as "the family farm" by a different person.
They said I had apparently called the wrong number. There number was 387-335-6492.
redialing an insuring i had dialed the correct number the first time it was answered as "the family farm" the second time.
i ask what a family farm was doing with a toll free number. then i ask for extension 11. i received mumbled answer.

Six comments up, from mine, "Average Citizen" claimed to have dealings with "Dynia & Associates" and had a positive experience with them; I don't know why someone who has or had a positive experience with any company would have the need to come to a site like this . . . . . . . Hmmmmm . . . . . . . RED FLAGS . . . . . . . However, "Average Citizen" also claims that "Dynia & Associates" has an "A+" rating with the "BBB"; I checked on this and they do have an "A" rating, but not the "A+" rating "Average Citizen" claims. Why would someone who has had a positive experience with any company be concerned with their "BBB" rating? Another RED FLAG. I also found out, from the "BBB" that "Dynia & Associates" has changed their name to "D & A Services". To me this is a RED FLAG for two reasons; why did the call I received today indicate that the call was from "Dynia & Associates"? Also, while many reputable companies change their names, for a variety reasons, disreputable companies often change their names, for obvious reasons.
While I've had no dealings with "Dynia & Associates" or "D & A Services" I'd tread lightly if you do have dealings with them.
My advice: if I don't know the number of the caller I do not answer it, but do everything I can to find out who it is. I refuse to deal with collection agencies, especially these days. If I do speak with a collection agency their are two things I need to know before I commit to dong business with them; first: are they licensed to do business in my state. The Attorney General of my state has repeatedly informed the public that many collection agencies, in my state, are operating illegally, because they are not licensed to do business in this state and most of those are disreputable companies. So, are you licensed to do business in my state; if so send me proof; you're states Attorney General also has list of companies registered and licensed to do business in your state. Second: I need to know that you have been retained by the company you claim to represent. And even if they do represent the company they claim to represent is the debt legitimate; you will know this in most cases, but learn a lesson from "Small businessman from georgia", above - he did not do his due diligence and got burned and what's worse is the company that he supposedly owed the money to let him down, in a big way. They should have called off the dogs and they didn't do that. I'd be doing business with another company the same day.
Regardless of whether a collector is legitimate, or not, they are not supposed to be calling you; that is considered harassment, especially those who call multiple times a week. You should be getting notifications in the mail; that is the only way they should be contacting you. And the only way they should be talking to you on the phone is if you call them.
If a creditor is harassing you, regardless of the circumstance, you can sue them and every call they make is a $1000.00 - $1500.00 penalty. So, if you are being harassed then get in touch with a lawyer and see what the law says in your state and local; the lawyer can tell you what your legal rights are and what you can do. Most lawyers don't charge a fee for the first consultation where they explain your rights and discuss your options.
No, I'm not a lawyer; just somebody that has a lot of experience with collection agencies, both legitimate and not.
