get a COLLECTION NOTICE past due bill threatening to turn over to collection, cannot verify who authorized service or what, scammers, don't pay the bill it is a hoax, they are scumbags.

    I just received a phone call from a Jake Green from Public Yellow Pages - 1-646-863-6217. He stated that I ordered a Public Yellow Pages ad in October 2011 and I am delinquent for an invoice of $599. I told him that's impossible. I don't have any paid listings anywhere and I would never have paid $599 for an ad. He then played me an audio tape of MY VOICE speaking with an operator. I was agreeing to pay the $599! I told him that can't be correct. I am certain I would never agree to pay for an ad of any kind and certainly not $600 for this. He got rude and threatened to put me in collections. He claims they mailed invoices to my address (I never got any) He had me "hook line and sinker" and if I had had my debit card I think I would have paid him! I told him to give me a few months and he agreed to accept the money in March. I gave him no bank info. Then I google Public Yellow Pages and found out it's a complete scam! Several people even got a call from the same guy and same number. He emailed me an invoice for the $599 plus interest totaling $667.40 and had the "walking fingers" logo and yellow pages logo with an address of 405 Lexington Ave (Chrysler Building) NY,NY.
    I have no idea how they got my voice. I vaguely remember speaking to that woman and her stating it would cost $599 and I told her no I wanted the free listing. They must edit out parts and make it sound like I agreed to it. UNBELIEVABLE. Be Careful!
    I have reported them to the FTC and my AG's office. I am a law enforcement officer and I have friends in the Department of Justice. I just forwarded the info to them.

      I have been receiving the same harrassing phone calls from the same Jake at the fraudulent publicyellowpages.  He is harrassing my staff members. We have contacted the AG, FTC and BBB. It does not seem to bring this scam artist to an end. How does he get away with using the same 646-863-6217 phone number without any repercussions? What good does it do to report it?

      We just received the exact same call.  I know for a fact we would never agree to this bull...we are only a small business and don't need to advertise on the internet..he said these invoices were faxed to us but this is the first time I have EVER seen an invoice like this from these people.  How do we take care of this matter??

    I spoke with my Dept. of Justice - They confirmed it's a scam and told me to ignore them. They are investigating. So I emailed him telling him to go away I am on to him. it was quiet for a month then I got an invoice in the mail and another email invoice. Today I got a voicemail from Jake telling me to pay up. I called and left a message on his vm that I know he is a scam and I have reported him to the Dept of Justice etc. He actually called back and said he doesn't care who i know at the DOJ. Said I purchased a service and it will go to collections now. Jake green has some seriously huge balls. I'm not giving them a dime. This is so irritating.

    I had the EXACT same situation.  I've talked to him 4 times.  I asked to speak to his supervisor and he said that wasn't possible that I had been black listed for having an "uncivil" conversation.  He said it wasn't a step ladder, that just because I didn't like the bill I could see if someone else would take it away.  I am so angry I'm shaking.  He used my assistant's voice in his recording.  She basically was verifying the information was correct and then when she was turned over to the guy for the recording she told him it wasn't the same conversation.  He got mad and said "I have to re-start the recording".  Jake told me the recording was verified with algorythms and such nonsense.  If anyone has ideas to shut them down it would be appreciated.

    I spoke with Jake, which I am sure isn't his real name, he has called our store 3-4 times, each time he plays "the" tape. He causes my blood pressure to rise each and every time even though I know it's a scam. I have told him to quit calling us that we know it's a scam, yet he has continued to call. I wish Jake would be found and tormented as he has tormented so many innocent people. He is a total creep! Jake seriously needs to find a legal line of work. I expect to receive a call this next week from Jake and am already dreading it. I have turned public yellow pages over to the FTC, BBB and the Attorney Generals office. I informed him I had done so. I have been threatened with court, which we know he can't do, and when I ask for court info for our attorney, he hangs up. I am sure this guy is a total loser who is incapable of working a real job, he finds it easier to sit on the phone and scam innocent people out of their money. Sadly some will pay. Jake Green is a creepy, nasty person who tries to scare people into paying him money they don't owe. Be careful!

    After following the advice of other sites including this one and reporting them to the BBB, Attorney Generals office and the FTC I received an email from the BBB stating that PublicYellowPages agreed to cancel our service with no fees being charged! They have not attempted to contact us again. So report them to the above mentioned agencies. I received an invoice thru the USPS a few days after receiving the email and I reported it to the USPS mail fraud division. This is a horrible scam and if we don't report them and do whatever we can to stop them they will continue to steal money from innocent American business owners trying to survive in a tough economy. It worked for us so please report them! I am pleased to say "Jake Green" will never call or speak to our store again!!!

    fake jake has little time left until he is exposed. we had the ability to get binladen and others. he is as evil as them. fake jake needs to be on that list. he is still trying to iteminidate my business and employees with his scam! i also contacted the ftc, atty general, fcc,bbb. read an article where an employee paid fake jake on his own credit card so he would not loose his job. we have famlies to support and this bottom feeder needs to go! he told me we will be going to court, can not wait for that day! do not think he will slither out from under his rock!

    I hope fake jake, which by the way I do love that! gets caught soon, sadly he most likely won't. He's a snake who can slither away, but atleast I was able to stop good old fake jake, and hopefully everyone else can too. Wonder where good ole fake jake is really calling from, cause from what I figured out that address in New York is a major newspapers address and I seriously doubt they would let scum like him run a business from their building. I doubt if good ole fake jake is even in the states, hope this creepy little man gets what he has coming someday...

    we are having the same above issues all of a sudden- after being the office manager for our business for 25 yrs I immediately knew it was a scam, however, they got an unsuspecting receptionist at first.   i spoke with them and told them this is a scam and hung up on them

    I sign up on Oct 21 2013 with them for two years and they sent to invoice to Can Find Collections in Feb 04 2014. .My invoice from Regional online Yellow Pages is dated Oct 21 2013. and Can Find cancelled the ad Feb 04 2014.Thats only four months.Can Find said that the ad started in 2012 and run to Feb 04 2014.How can that be. Yes Regional Online Yellow Pages are a bunch scum bags..Bad company to do businnes with.I feel like a I have been raked over the coals .
