We have received a letter from this A.C.A. Recovery Co. (Collection Agency) saying we owe $774.95 for a listing in the local US pages which I never agreed to back in 2010, said they have sent us invoices which we never received either. They have a recorded conversation with me which means nothing because they know how to change "no" to "yes" that alone is fraud. I looked this company up online and they are rated D and have over 300 complaints. This is a scam and something needs to be done about people/company's that do this.

    They are a bunch of liars, and yes they do doctor phone recordings.
    Faking "authorization" recordings is common with "business directory" scams.

    File fraud complaints with FTC, your state AG, the New Jersey AG

    .If you receive a fraudulent bill through the U.S. Mail, file a mail fraud complaint with the U.S. Postal Inspector.

    I have a letter too... when I called and I told her did not approve any such thin she told me she would see my fat ass in court and hung up on me.

      Using illegal threats to get money makes it a petty extortion or "shakedown" racket.

      File fraud complaints with FTC.
      Since they sent a fraudulent "invoice", file a mail fraud complaint with the U.S. Postal Inspector.
