Purchased a car MD scope through infomercial , with membership to easy saver. In checking my bank account realized that for the last 3 months I have been charged for both Easysaver and Encore marketing which I did not authorize,. both payment of $16.95 each. I should have been more aware to begin with,
I called 1 800 262.6199 and asked to cancel, I was told that they would cancel it. Bank told me they can put a stop on it for only one month but the cancellation has to come from Easy saver.

"Bank told me they can put a stop on it for only one month but the cancellation has to come from Easy saver."

Your bank is giving you a half-truth.  They can reverse fraudulent charges based on your dispute, but you will still have to close the account due to fraud to prevent later fraudulent charges from slipping through.  As you have seen, those charges might be run through under some different name, so a block wouldn't stop them.  That is why you must close your account due to fraud.

Contact the scam company and tell them to cancel and refund the unauthorized charges.  They will probably lie about you "authorizing" it.  That is what these scams do.

Notify your bank that the charges are fraudulent, and that they must close your account to prevent additional fraud.  Follow up with a written fraud dispute, sent to your bank's dispute address from your statement, and mail certified so you have proof of mailing and delivery.  This is to document that your dispute was timely, and complies with FRB Reg. E, which allows your bank to reverse unauthorized charges when notified within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charges.

....good thing I'm reading this. Received the CarMD last Christmas (2010) as a gift. Just now attempting to try it (8/2011) only to find out that you have to additional fees just to get the basic info. Their infomercials are misleading. Infomercials make it sound like it a great tool to shop for used cars....don't tell you that you can only shop for 3 vehicles! That won't include your current vehicle if you want to sign it up for diagnosis. Now I find out they re-bill your account repeatedly???. Typical infomercial. I feel bad now for the person that spent the money on a gift they thought would be so useful.....only to find out it will just end up as a paper weight. Some of the reports they attempt to charge for can be obtained for free on the internet already!
