Debt collectors have been known to lie.
There are also reports of threatening calls, alleging threats of lawsuits or imminent arrest if alleged debts denied by consumers are not paid immediately thru disclosure of bank account or credit card information. These calls may possibly be from debt collectors but some reports claim they are scammers from India, Several debt collectors located in the Jacksonville FL area have been reported to engage in such illegal abusive collection.
The West Virginia AG has a warning on his website, and ABC has reported on this scam.
Since they contacted you, they have 5 days to send you a letter about the alleged debt, which must also disclose your right to dispute or request proof of the debt. If they fail to send you that letter required by FDCPA, they are in violation of federal law.
Since they have threatened to sue you, if they fail to carry out their threat, they have also violated FDCPA for threatening to take any action the can't or don't intend to take.
Since they are calling every hour, and have already talked to you, their calls are harassing and abusive, again in violation of FDCPA. They are also calling and making threats demanding money for a debt you don't owe. The entire picture says "scam", whether this is a "debt collector" or a criminal.
Contact your state Attorney General immediately for assistance.

Hi, first you can send them a letter asking to validate the debt, many sites have the the letter you can use. also send a cease and desist letter telling them not to call your home cell or work number and any other form of electronic communication. complain to Attorney General and the FTC. try Bud Hibbs.com for quite a bit of info regarding collections and the complaints against this company good luck

When you send a validation request letter, keep it simple and direct, not like a lot of the internet letters with everything including the kitchen sink. FDCPA doesn't require that you sound like a lawyer to be able to enforce your rights later in court.
Simply state that you dispute the alleged debt, you believe you do not owe it, and you are requesting that they send proof. Send your letter certified return receipt requested so you have proof you sent it timely, and that they received it (or refused to accept it, in which case it will come back to you indicating their refusal).
Note that the general pattern of their harassment, including repeated calling with threats of immediate lawsuits, fits that reported for "payday loan" debt collectors, as well as "debt collection" scammers. The violations are obvious indicating the goal is to panic consumers into paying money without questioning the legitimacy of the alleged debt. That alone makes it suspicious.

How many times do I get calls from this number now before they wise up and remove me from their Harrassing calls. WHO IS DOING ANYTHING OUT THERE FOR PEOPLE WHO PAY THEIR BILL HAVE GREAT CREDIT AND ARE BEING HARRASSED BY THESE CALLERS.
