Illegally scammed my debit card
Complaint

Country: United States
I checked my Walmart Debit Card balance Sat.Aug. 8, 2011, and I had $31.00 left in it. I am disabled, and needed to pick up a prescription. I went to the pharmacist on the following day (Sunday). There was only $1.00 in my card. At home, I immediately got on the internet and found that a company I had never heard of before, had blatently removed $29.95 from my account. I'm diabetic and the script was very important! Now I have to wait until next month. The FRAUD Co. was WC Mon Budget Savers. I have never received anything or had anything to do with this co. I canceled my debit card immediately and contacted the Federal Trade Commission. If this company attacked your card, file a complaint with the FTC. WC Budget Savers is in Minnetonka, MN. Their phone # is 800-475-1942.

In addition, contact the Minnesota Attorney General.
They generally get your card number through some shady online or mail order retailer who passed it to them, often justifying it by some hidden fine print, a deceptive phone sales pitch for some "free trial discount membership", or a deceptive pop-up ad for a "discount".
Once you find that any scam has your account information, the only safe action is to block the card number or shut down the account. Otherwise, even if they claim they have "cancelled" this alleged "discount membership", there is nothing to stop them from cramming charges in the future.
The Senate Commerce Committee held hearings on these scams a couple years ago. Although VISA tightened up their merchant contracts in response, these scams are still operatomg. fleecing consumers.
File a fraud dispute or fraud affidavit with Walmart over the attempt to take your money without authorization.
File fraud complaints with FTC, your state Attorney General, and in this case the Minnesota Attorney General, as the company appears to be Provell, based in Minnesota.
Did you make any purchases by phone or internet recently, such as for some product advertised on TV?

This was started by making a phone purchase for a product advertised on TV.
