Charged for pay per view movies I did NOT order!

Cancelled service. Got a refund check. Two months later I get a bill for $38.94 for pay per view movies I never watched. I called them and was told they were ordered through the remote control. I told them that was impossible because there was no internet or phone line going to the box.  Oh, and supposedly we ordered them AFTER we had mailed our receiver and remote control back. How is that even possible?

The worst part is that we were turned over to collections!  We call direct tv two days after we get this bogus bill & they tell us it's in collections!  Are you kidding me!  The man we talked to, David, said  he'd remove the charges. But then he gives us the numbers of several different collection agencies (because he doesn't know which one it went to) and told us it's our responsibility to clear our names.

None of the collection agencies we called have our account. I guess we have to wait for them to hunt us down. This is bullcrap.
