leaking washer and noisy

let me start off by saying I was talked into this brand by an older gentlemen at homedepot in 2009. not that I think he was being dishonest with his statements he was just basing it off how things used to be made back in the day. now my issue, I had to have the entire internal components replaced within the first year at the cost of maytag. this was due to an unbelievable shaking and noisy washer which was almost unbearable (I thought a jet was landing in my house). even after the repair it made some noise but I thought it was normal compared to what it used to be. now in 2013 I am faced with a 900 piece of sh*t that leaks. after calling maytag and preaching that I was told that they were a reputable company, after speaking to a manager, I still couldn't even get the parts discounted to fix it myself. I will never buy a maytag appliance again in my life and from reading these other complaints, a whirlpool either.
