Constant phone calls to my cell

Complaint

They call me every day on my cell during and after work hours.  I have already spoke to them and told them to send me information and haven't received anything.  They are using up my minutes and I don't want them to call me.

As long as you only tell them on the phone, they figure you are an unsophisticated sucker who can't prove anything, so they will ignore you while continuing to harass you.

They were required to send you a letter within 5 days of their first contact notifying you of the debt and of your right to dispute it.  Failure to do so is a violation of FDCPA, but some shady debt collectors prefer to harass you by phone without notifying you of those pesky dispute rights.

Send them a letter, mailed certified, notifying them that you dispute any alleged debt, demand that they obtain and send proof from the original creditor that you owe it, and that it is inconvenient for you to receive their calls at any time.

After confirming their receipt of your letter via the USPS website, if you continue to get harassing calls, file complaints with FTC and your state AG, and get an attorney.

You can find a consumer attorney in your state through www.naca.net
