I can't tell you how disappointed I am in this machine.   I've had the repair man here at least 8 times in 2 years....always the same reason.....won't spin out.....Even if it wasn't always breaking, I still hate this machine!   It takes almost 2 hours to do a load of cloths!!!!!    They just put in a new transmission and it's still not spinning out!

WE purchased this washer in 2013 and it has been tearing clothing, especially fine fabrics, ever since.  This is irrespective of setting used.  We have also experienced the poor washing, which is not that unusual for so-called "high-efficiency" washers.  Apparently Maytag has responded to the complaint about low water levels by making the new models with doors (or lids, as you might call them on top-loaders) that lock shut until the cycle is over!  That way you cannot see the water level.  I guess the laugh is on us.
