They spoke in detail to relatives about my car note. They even asenuated that I went missing. I have been living in the same place fo over 17 years. I paid off the car and they still report that I owed money on it.

    They have a history of complaints of abusive and harassing calls to their customers.

    If they are demanding money and the car is paid off, they may also start screwing with your credit.
    Did they release the lien?

    Get an attorney.  You can find a consumer attorney in your state through www.naca.net

    Predatory lenders
    This is one company to avoid.  They are definitely predatory lenders and you will end up paying back twice what you borrow from them.  This makes it impossible for anyone that is struggling to get their car back.
    They will lend money on people's paid off cars, called a title loan, and are very quick to repossess..so they can resell your car at a huge profit.  They make it unafforable to payoff the loan, just so they can RIP YOU OFF.  They completely take advantage.  My advice?  Run like your hair is on fire.
