    "mediation" = scam..
    Scam debt collectors use "mediation" in their name to sound like they're "attorneys" or are engaging in some "legal process".  The goal is to coerce payment without any proof the alleged "debt" is owed to them, or even owed at all.

    The "magazine subscription" was probably coerced from the victim by some fraudulent telemarketer through deception and intimidation, adding new "subscriptions" whenever they wanted to, if there was even any initial "sale" at all.

    BBB report..
    Shakedown "debt collection" threatening "lawsuits" on fake "magazine subscriptions".  Reported to have obtained SSN and DOB even though consumers report claim is bogus.  This may suggest they're skip-tracing to obtain id information to use for deceptive collection.  When confronted by BBB they claim the "subscription" is "legitimate", but drop the matter immediately.  Amounts claimed are in the hundreds up to a thousand dollars, which would be a ridiculous amount of magazines at publisher's direct online rates. Alleged "accounts" are supposedly delinquent for 9 or more years, yet they've threatened "lawsuits" past SOL, or to post to credit reports, which would be illegal.  Alleged original magazine marketers include "Magazine Service Corp of Virginia Beach" and "National Service Corp." which may also be in Virginia Beach.

    Magazines Inc of Virginia Beach..

    The fraudulent "debt" collection tactics above are typical d&d for tainted "subscriptions" from fraudulent schemes.

    Make lots of implied verbal threats which they can't actually do, claim it's "legitimate" and deny all illegality in BBB disputes, and move on if it doesn't work before you get an AG complaint.  That says they know the "accounts" are fraudulent.

    Don
    Same as those above.  Caller threatened legal  action over an alleged small amount relating to magazines.  Send documents via email requesting electronic signature.
