Ripped Off at L.A. Fitness

Classic bait and switch. I was assured that my wife's and my memberships were the top level that LA Fitness offered and included access to every location, towel service, wherever available, and court privileges. We were to pay $199 down and $50 per month, for both memberships. When I activated the membership the clerk at the front, at first, said that I did not have towel service, so I did not complain. Later, I found that she lied. Fortunately, I discovered the lie within the 5 day cancellation period. Max, the GM and person who signed us up, said that my membership was limited. If I wanted the unlimited membership, I had to pay $80 per month. He lied to me in other ways, as well. I just want what I was promised. LA Fitness did not respond to my emails or letter, until a BBB complaint was filed.
Once it was filed, the company refused to resolve the complaint, unless I agreed to pay $240 per year more than my membership was to cost. L.A. Fitness lied to me on many occasions. The manager who contacted me said that I was offered the full, unlimited membership that I was supposed to receive, but, when the sales rep lowered the price, he also lowered the membership level, without telling me. I have learned that this practice may be repeated. A class action lawsuit may be in order. Will the Better Business Bureau do anything to help? I am simply looking to get the memberships for my wife and me, as promised, i.e. completely unlimited, $199 down, $50 per month.
