Received letter from ACA Recovery in todays mail, called them and they indicated I had an overdue statement with Go Yellow Pages Online.com.  Since I do not advertise with dot.com companies as so many of them are scams I told Ms. Young it was not my bill. She indicated that a statement was sent out in December.  I did not receive a statement.  I began looking up this company, nothing but complaints about it and it's so called collection company.  They have my company listed, phone number is wrong, no email address and no website. Now if I had actually worked with someone to advertise, wouldn't I have put my phone number, website and email?  SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM.  ACA sent me the statement that was not legible.  Got the phone number online.  No one will pick up the phone at Go Yellow Pages Online.  I am sending a certified letter demanding a zero balance and copying the State Attorney Generals Office and their Local BBB office.

In the middle of this mess with Yellow Local Directory. Do they ever report this to any CRA? Anyone have a draft of a dispute letter that worked? Thanks.

I have seen no complaints that ACA Recovery reports any of these bogus "accounts" to any CRA.  That would open them up to FCRA lawsuits for reporting of false negative information, and since FCRA allows for awarding of attorney fees, it shifts the balance in court back toward the victim.

They have been running this scam for years, with "clients" under many different names, so clearly they know what they are up to.  This is a game of chicken, all bluff, and they have to back off if challenged.  They appear to be primarily targetting small businesses, probably to avoid FDCPA, so odds are will avoid FCRA as well.

    File fraud complaints with FTC.

That pretty much sums up what they are up to.

Deceptive solicitations or fraudulent bills are "nonmailable matter" under U.S. postal regulations.  Sending fraudulent bills through the U.S. Mail is mail fraud, so contact the U.S. Postal Inspector.

I received a collection notice from A.C.A Recovery Inc. That said I owed a balance of $724.99 for a account with Yellowpagesexpress.com We have never done any work or advertised with Yellowpagesexpress.com. I have sent a written complaint to Yellowpagesexpress & BBB of New Jersey regarding this activity today. I guess they think people will just see a bill and pay it with looking at the fine print!!!! VERY STUPID YELLOW PAGES & A.C.A!!!!!

I got a phone call from online yellow pages today, and this is what he said with thick Indian accent,
"My name name is Ron Williams, i'm a Sr. manager of the Online yellow pages,
you need discontinue the service today or have to pay $599,I'll transfer to verification department, Just verify the questions, and don't interrupt, and say yes to everything then you'll receive invoice number, then phone will trance back to me and  you give me that number,i'll cancel the bill for you"   I was shocked that i had a such bill that i wasn't aware of... I had to say "yes" to even though questions like "you 'll agree to pay $599" because i thought that is the only way to avoid the charges...anyway, phone was disconnected after i agree to everything, not trans back to so call Sr. manager,so i dialed *69, the number was ,347-418-0489 in New York, but, there was no signal,  than i realized i was scammed!
I'll notify BBB,FTC and contact the U.S Postal Inspector, i'll even make police report tomorrow.  We must help each other to stop this fraudulent in America!

I work as the business director at a church. I too received a call asking if I wanted to be a part of onlineyellowpagestoday.com. As per my usual answer to any company that calls seeking our business, I asked them to send me information on their company. I researched their company as soon as I got off the phone and found that they like to edit phone recordings to make it sound like you agreed to a contract. I contacted them back immediately and told them not to send anything. A couple of weeks later, we got an invoice. I called 877-389-1251 and told them I would not be paying the invoice since I didn't agree to any contract. The woman said she would bring up the audio of the contract confirmation. I told her I was not interested as they were known for editing for phone calls and told her if I received more contact from them including invoices that I would report to BBB. They obviously backed down.

I too was caught in this web scam. I sent cease and desist letters to the company with no answer despite CC'ing BBB and the attorney general's office. I submitted a complaint to the BBB and within 3 months I had a very nice" we're sorry for the inconvenience all is forgiven" . I also have recieved confirmation from the NY attorney general office that my complaint is being investigated. I strongly recommend that you file complaints at least with the BBB. They were helpful and the answer was timely.

The onlineyellowpagestoday.com people sent us numerous bills that went into the recycle.  Then they started calling.  Three times from India the last two times I asked them to remove us from their call list.  I was called again today, this time the woman with a medium Latino accent asked for our Accounts Payable manager.  I asked her what her business was and was not surprised to hear the above company name.  I told her we had not authorized any business with the above company and she said we had and named a person on our parish staff who she said had done a phone authorization.  I knew this was not true but had her fax an invoice to us which I am using to contact the BBB to file a formal complaint.  These people are very pushy.  They don't quit easy!  It's best to just turn them in to be investigated.

BBB can't do much, but be sure to file a fraud complaint with FTC, and send them a copy of the fraudulent invoice.

Ignore their fraudulent bills and their fake threats.

I was stuck with this fraud a while back when I worked in Texas for a Hotel.  Now out of the blue they sent me a bill for $18000. i was not autorized to say "yes" or make any orders so not sure how I'm stuck getting sued for $18000 from yellow pages.  Its also showing up in my credit report. I've never had any reason to place an ad or even pay for my name in yellow pages.  Would these people go as far as taking me to court? I'm currently trying to buy a house and this came out of nowhere and has screwed up my whole rep with the banks.  Having the hardest time closing on the house now that this has totally ruined my credit report.  Is there any way to get this off my credit quickly?? any help would be greatly appreciated, hate people who cant just work hard and make legitimate money.
