Billing Scam
Complaint
Mark
Country: United States
Same complaint as many other people. They ship product you do not ask for then bill you in confusing installments. They will not cancel the orders and continue to bill. They have sent me to a collection agency.
I am now paying $45.33 just so my credit is NOT damaged. This is money I DO NOT owe them.

"Confusion" is a form of deception, with the advantage that when you get caught, you can claim "it was all a mistake" and just walk away. The rest of the time, you get to keep the money.
You were conned and swindled. At this rate, they will keep billing, and you will keep paying this "collection agency" for the rest of your life, all because they keep pretending they "lost" your cancellation..
Their blatant fraud has become more aggressive lately, judging from consumer complaints. Sending these phony "accounts" to a slimy collection agency, while continuing to ship and bill you, is an example of this aggressive fraud. They are acting like no one can touch them.
File fraud complaints with FTC, your state Attorney General, and the US Postal Inspector. It is illegal to bill for unordered merchandise, and illegal to use the US Mail or any common carrier (UPS, Fed Ex, etc.) in a fraudulent scheme. It's called mail fraud.
Contact an attorney, as you may be able to sue the collection agency for violations of FDCPA. Since you apparently just rolled over to the CA, even knowning you were being swindled, it's likely they engaged in various violations, including deceptive collection, evasion of valication, etc. You can find a consumer attorney in your state through www.naca.net
Question: What collection agency would assist them in this fraud?
