,My Consumer Cellular cell phone was lost in 2012, service cancelled, etc. I paid the bill for that month, but bills kept coming with various incorrect amounts owed. I was forced to make many, many calls to them, each time being assured all was well and each time wasting my time. Finally I submitted a complaint to the FTC. Today I learned that I was referred to the collection agency. Luckily I will contact the FTC again, because Consumer Cellular is so disorganized that it probably did not yet get the the FTC complaint. i do not have the time any more to re-tell my long story or submit documents, so I am glad I will update my call to the FTC. This is what everyone should do. Unfor
tunately AARP has some slight association with Consumer Cellular, so I reported my persecution to AARP. I hope I have that document in my computer. I know the FTC complaint is still valid. This will save me much, much trouble in dealing with a collection agency. I am writing this to advise anyone to stay clear of this company. If you are already a client of Consumer Cellular and the same horror happens to you, please just file with the FTC.
