I got a phone call today from PMG about a debt that I supposedly owed.  I looked at my credit report and they pulled up my credit report yesterday.  The lady on the phone changed her name twice during the conversation.  She said I was going to court anyway and I just started to cry.  I don't have this debt and she said it was back in 2004.  I don't know what to do.  I had my husband record the phone call so I would have some proof of conversation and that the process server would not serve me papers since she called the lawyer and they gave me 24hrs.  I'm going through some sites right now, but what else can I do?  She stated stated at the beginning of call she stated her name was Tori and then at the end of the conversation she said her name was Jordan.

"I looked at my credit report and they pulled up my credit report yesterday."
A lot of other complaints indicate that consumers found their credit report had been pulled very recently.  There are indications in a number of complaints that they are pulling credit reports and using information they find there to con consumers into paying unowed, fake debts, sometimes using the names of creditors found.

"The lady on the phone changed her name twice during the conversation."
They are using multiple names.  She can't keep her story straight.  That is how you know it's a story.

"She said I was going to court anyway and I just started to cry."
The goal of their tactics is to panic you, so that you will pay this alleged "debt" without checking it out.

    "I don't have this debt "
That is what most complaints against them also report.

"she said it was back in 2004."
She is trying to "suggest" you might have forgotten it.  Even if it were real (it's not), in many states that would be past SOL, and suing you would be a violation of federal law, FDCPA.  They routinely violate FDCPA and FCRA.

"I had my husband record the phone call so I would have some proof of conversation and that the process server would not serve me papers since she called the lawyer and they gave me 24hrs. "
Save the recording as evidence.  You may want to sue them.  Strange that no credible complaint reports actually being served, despite many reported being contacted by this "process server".  Yeah, they called the "lawyer".  Right... Any lawyer working with them would risk being disbarred.

"I'm going through some sites right now, but what else can I do?"
You did your research.  Based on what you found, game over, they lose.  You know there is no debt, they lie, and they threaten.  That makes it a con.

If you should actually be served (unlikely), find an attorney and respond, since all complaints indicate they are running a fraud and extortion racket.  As it is unlikely that they have any right to collect on any debt you actually owe, you may be able to sue them for violations of FDCPA or FCRA.

File complaints with FTC, your state Attorney General, and the California Attorney General.

You might also contact an attorney with experience in FDCPA and FCRA, to discuss suing them.  Both laws allow courts to award attorney fees if you win, so you may be able to find an attorney willing to take such a case on contingency.  You might try www.naca.net

Looks like the Corona Scam was just sued by FTC.

Contact FTC if you are being harassed or threatened, or have been defrauded, by any of the Corona Scam fronts.

hey "tj" - aka disgruntal employee that didnt cut it in the industry,  maybe instead of copying and pasting bosus sites that have no relavance to an actual court website OR looking into the court allegations and paying .7 cents a page for them, and copying and pasting them...why dont you perhaps get a real life and get a job! maybe the ftc should investigate you and your slandering you have done!

by the time it took you to read this "tj" you probably could have gone on craigslist and had 2 interviews and acctually made something out of yourself.
looser! why dont you get your facts straight OR just pay your bills....
