Ours is the whirlpool duet ( which came with the house we purchased thought great it was only bought in dec . 2010)and has been ripping and shredding our clothes for 6 months now, called whirl pool said they had nothing on file of what was happening to us  or any similar complaints but would send repair man at 100.00 plus parts! Really! Would never buy a whirlpool product again

    I bought mine in June 2010 and have been having the same problem for a couple of months at least now!  Its so annoying!  Every time I open the washer I have to inspect everything to see whats torn/ripped.  So far I would say I am at at least $100 worth of damaged clothes/cloth diapers.  I am at my wits end.
