On or around February 1 2016. I called to pay my monthly bill via/ debit card. At that time the automated voice said that I owed $218.00
. I have been a dedicated Direct TV customer for over two years now and have ALWAYS paid my monthly bill on time. So i knew it was wrong, I proceeded to call costumer service where i spoke to a representative named Melissa, after a hour conversation with her on the phone we decided that I would get my bank statements and call her back. when i obtained my statements i again called Direct TV , and was told I was not allowed to speak with Melissa. I did however speak to a representative that stated my November 1,2015 bill had not been paid. i dont understand why that was not brought up before February 1, 2016 . I got my bank statements showing where Direct TV was paid on November 2,2015 in the amount of $125.12. He tried to say that it was from October, however i made a payment on October 31,2015 in the amount of $125.12 also. I have every receipt, on my bank statement and have offered to fax them copies. They stated they was a no paper facility. I then offered to E-mail them copies of my bank statements, however he stated that's not possible either. I don't know how i'm suppose to get my statements of proof to them and keep my services from being suspended or disconnected in the meantime. Like I stated before I've been a valued Direct TV customer for over two years now and have paid my bill every month for two years and im sure not going to miss one month and go through all of this trouble and aggravation over one payment that i have proof that i paid!! PLEASE HELP ME!!

They can claim "no paper" all they want, it's their responsibility to be able to generate statements of account, and any well designed accounting system is able to do that. It's only the "customer service" people who are "no paper".
Basically, they have failed to credit your account for a payment made, even though they have pocketed the money. Treat it as a "unfair business practice", and contact your state Attorney General for assistance. They may put you in touch with your state's public utilities commission or similar agency.
