    Government Actions

On March 6, 2008, the Missouri Attorney General filed suit in St. Charles County Circuit Court against Dealer Warranty Services of St. Charles for using misleading notification letters to pressure, confuse and intimidate consumers into purchasing motor vehicle extended service contracts they did not need. The Attorney General claimed the company misrepresented to consumers the cost of purchasing the motor vehicle extended service contracts and debited their bank accounts without authorization. The suit is pending.

I received a postcard concerning extended warranty on my mom's car. Two problems; first, my mother died last June and second, her car was a 1994 Dodge. Any warranty that may have applied expired at least 4 years ago, if not more.

I have received three or four post cards for extended warranty on my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, each saying vehicle's factory warranty has expired or may expire soon depending on current mileage.  Mileage at purchase on 12-30-07 was 52,230 and warranty had already expired.  Post card received today says "Final Warranty Notice."  I am skeptical, so decided to look on Internet to see whether there have been complaints.

I received a notice of Warranty expiration and i don't even have a warranty any more.  Just wanted this to go on record that it is claiming that this is the second notice and i never received a first nor do i want to be receiving these notices.  Wish the suit could be expedited.  Thanks,

I have received three notices from this company about vehicle warranty expiration. My warranty expired several years ago as the vehicle in question is a 1991. Can anything be done to stop this company from sending these notices?? Thanks.

I, too, have received numerous notices from this organization, all bearing the heading "SECOND NOTICE" advising me of my expired vehicle factory warranty - said vehicle not being identified. Not a good ploy for DWS people mailing their message to those having multiple vehicles.

I have been receiving these second notice post cards for the last nine months, my dealer warranty expired in 2007. It amazes me how all this money being used for postage could be going for a good cause! GOOD for the Missouri attorney general for filing this suit against dws.

This company has been harrassing my elderly mother in Ohio. With notices and calls. Stating final notice and trying to pressure her into buying a warranty. They pretend to be with the dealership where she bought her car, but when she asked questions as to who they were they hung up on her. She was afraid she had done something wrong. How long is this company going to be allowed to intimidate the elderly? They addressed her as valued customer. Its time this company got some hefty fines and put out of business for good.

If this company is being investigated by the attorney general, why are they being allowed to continue to send post cards & make these stupid phone calls at all hours & days.  Some thing is wrong with our justice system.  If my husband gets injured one more time trying to get to the phone to answer this ridiculous message I may be forced to get take drastic measures...

I have told this company a hundred times to stop calling me but they continue to call a couple times a week. I am so tired of arguing with these people about a warrenty for a car I do not own anymore. The vechicle in question is a 2005 Jeep-first of all I would not buy a warrenty for a car that is 7 years old, second of all---its a Chrysler--I got rid of it b/c of problems and the lemon law lawsuit. The harrassment has to stop!!!

I actually purchased a warranty from this bogus company. It was actually 2 warranties. One of the vehicles broke down and they have tricky wording. However, they found a way to deny the claim. I told them if we were going to have to pay to get the vehicle fixed it would be futile to double pay. They are just like the rest FULL OF IT.

We have been trying to contact the Dealer Warranty Service Company at St. Charles, Mo. regarding the policy they sold us and the phone numbers that they gave us are not in service. We have been paying on this Service Since Feb. of 2010. We need advice from the Missouri Attorney General Office on where to go from here. Please advise!

We have been paying to the Dealer Warranty Services Since Feb. 2010 and when we tried to contact them to file a claim, their telephone numbers were no longer in service. We are an elderly couple that have been scammed and we would like to see justice been done!
