Smell
Complaint

Country: United States
We bought a bedroom set approx. 3 months ago, and we are not able to get the smell out of it.
we contacted the store, and they stated, its wood smell, and most customers like it, to us, and our friends, it smells like formaldehyde.
The store will not take it back , or exchange, due to no defect.
What to do ?? Please advice.

It can cause respiratory irritation, but it should reduce with time. Maintain adequate ventilation so that it does not build up.
How much of a problem this is may depend on how sensitive you are, or whether you have respiratory problems such as asthma or emphysema.
I have no idea what levels are considered acceptable or excessive, but epa.gov should have some information on it.
You might be able to accellerate outgassing by storing at a slightly higher temperature to bake it out, i.e. keep it in the garage through a hot summer instead of in an air conditioned house.
