This should teach all of us a lesson.  Never give a credit card to anyone or any so called company over the phone or internet.  I am ashamed that I was taken in by this.  If all I ever lose is 3.95 plus the 89.31. it is money well spent.  What can we do to prevent others?  Tell a friend, run an ad in the newspaper.  Refuse anything that says its free, and then asks for a handling and shipping charge.  Regretfully, in the same boat.

    June 7th, 2008

Early April 2008 I come across what was titled: Colon Cure...Free Trial. One would think a 60 capsule container is a good deal to try free....BUT..

I read all of the information including the fine print especially where it stated that if I did not intend to follow up with additional orders I was required to call and advise accordingly within 14 days. The free offer was only supposed to cost me a shipping charge of around four dollars. I needed to know how well Colon Cure is going to be effective and I wanted to wait until I finish the entire quantity of the capsules. My bank statement showed $89.31 instead of the shipping charge. I called this morning and tried to make some inquiries as I spoke to an employee named Cindy. I had already given her my full name so I asked for her full name to which she told me that she only had just the one name! I asked her Colon Cure's address but she immediately went on her defence and while she hesitated I assured her that I already had the address and I simply wanted to verify it. She then agreed but corrected the North Las Vegas, Nevada zip code I had ie 89115 and she gave me 89030.

I then asked her for a supervisor's name so that I could write directly to the company. She asked me to wait until she gets it. I waited for over half hour and then a male spoke to me announcing that he was the supervisor. I gave him my full name and he also just gave me his first name only, that being Jason. I asked if there was a problem in divulging his surname along with his first name and he told me that he would be fired if he gave his full name. I asked him why is he not proud to have his surname associated with the name of Colon Cure, after all it is probably his livelihood. He told me that he is ecstatic about his livelihood and did not want to lose his job. I said I can understand that after all you're probably not working for peanuts even though you make this business sound very shady.

I asked him for my money to be credited back to my credit card and he told me that I do not have any right for it. I then told him that the free offer
was really not free at all. He ignored me to the point by affirming that I will not get my money refunded saying that I was like most people who did not read the fine print. I told him that it was obvious then that their fine print was intended to mislead just like the fine print on the front of the container above the brand name Colon Cure. I am wearing a pair of fairly powerful sight glasses and I still cannot read what is printed thereon. What this Jason is not aware of, as I did not want to reveal it during our discussion is that I did call after 15 days and spoke to another nameless young lady letting her know that I will not be reordering for a while and will be in touch at a later date. I thought at the time that I need to continue taking colon cure for a little while longer to make sure it is really effective. A few days after this phone call I received my bank statement and it showed Colon Cure charged me $89.31 instead of the shipping charge. One other thing: the Colon Cure container stipulates on the front of the label: " Dietary Supplement - 60 Capsules " But only 28 inside!!

I have no idea if there is anything that can be done for me and others who are also caught up in this dishonest business arrangement who seems to be cleverly set up to frame people and steal their hard earned cash. I am an aged pensioner and I surely would not have involved myself with this particular business brand name: Colon Cure had I known they use such shady manipulating type of methods. It is a great pity we do not have a governmental law office to take strict care in making sure such shady money making organized setups do not exist. It beats me why such crooked people are allowed to operate any type of business at all.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get this off my chest. At 75 years of age I am still learning how not to trust even those who appear to be in business to help others less fortunate.

My heartfelt wish: I would like to see whether there exists a conscientious law firm who is prepared to take the challenge and run a class action against such organizations with manipulative methods. I am sure there are a lot like me who are prepared to back up and provide the evidence needed for such a court action. I very much doubt the Consumers Affairs Dept. is strong enough to tackle this problem for why then have they not ever done anything?  If we just sit back and wait for our governmental powers that be to do something, a lot of us won't be around if and whenever that (may) happen.

Many thanks. Please keep me informed of any interesting updates that may occur to challenge this problem.

    Sincerely,
    Joe Farrugia

I also tried colon cure. I got the free trial and 4 days after receiving it was charged 89.76 for the next shipment. It didn't help me either. I called to cancel and they said it was to late to cancel for that shipment. I told them it said there was a money back gaurentee and they told me the gaurentee was just for the free trial. I put in a complaint to the BBB. I didn't hear back from the BBB so I called them and e-mailed them again. A lady called me back and said she sent a letter which I never got saying if you send the product back they will refund your money. I sent it back but I have not received any money back.

I ordered a trial size and two weeks later got a regular size bottle.  My husband opened it by mistake, so I had to keep it.  Couldn't reach the co. and within the last two weeks I have received 3 more bottles.  I had to cancel my debit card. We need to call the police and send it in to your Attorney General.

Just want to encourage all those that did lose money to products. I purchased some coloncure. They debited $3.95 cents from my acct. Said I would get the product in 3 days. It did come with-in 1 week. on top of that they debited another $3.95 from my acct back to back days. I called my bank and was refunded the money and changed my card number. You try and call the number never can get through. Lesson learned. There are companies that are not scams just have to do your homework

I have also odered the trial size colon cure, it never said that they would send any other product and charge me $89.31 after 14 days.  now they have billed my check card and the phone number they give to call, doesn't work and it tells you to call another number, and that number is for verison phone services, which is not part of this company.   this is a major scam....  I still haven't been able to contact the company to cancel the oder before they try to bill me again.

Yea, same scam with me. I had done some research about colon cleansing and thought that it could be beneficial. A week or so later during a survey this sample offer came up. I thought hey, $3.95, lets give it a try. Same scam, waited, it arrived, two days later a full months supply with a notice that I had been charged $89.31 and would be every 30 days until I canceled my order. I called my Bank and had my card canceled but it was too late to stop the payment. I did speak to a person who told me that if I sent the product back with a tracking number from my local post office I would be reimbursed for the $89.31 charge. I did this on 7/24/08 as of 9/1/08 I have had no contact other then a few phone calls where I am being told how happy they are to have me as a long time customer and they want to reward me with a gift certificate for $50.00 to Walmart. All I have to do is verify my credit card number, which happens to be the one that was canceled. I am just glad that I was only burnt for $89.31 plus the postage for sending the garbage back. So I guess the only thing now is to figure out how to warn others before they get burnt. Oh,  if you want the charges to stop for sure, change your card!

Just a word to the wise, the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, still stands the test of time. I have found many scams in my e-mails and internet surfing. If I am in doubt as to the legitimacy of any thing I Google it. Do a Google search using the name or names from the letter, product, medicine etc. and if any body has ever been taken or tried to be taken advantage of it will be recorded in one of countless sites. Take the time and be sure, that is the only security. I didn't with Colon cure and ouch! It isn't called World Wide Web for nothing. People can be in one country or Island and say they are some where else. They can register for an address with a totally fake address. All that can be done to them is their site is shut down. They in turn just open another site with another address. So be sure, take the time and Google it.

OK 1 More post, I went back to their site, found it by Google search, and copied their information. They could very well be stationed within the USA, they have protected themselves well enough except of course for the number of pills in the bottle. But then again you have to open the bottle to count them don't you, and once it's opened how do you prove the number?
Remember Google is your friend, Google any and everything and be safe.

    1. Collection of Information.
    1.1 Survey Information.
Colon Cleanse M.D. collects information from individuals by various methods, including, but not limited to, when an individual voluntarily completes an Colon Cleanse M.D. survey, order form, or a registration page either online or offline, or by means of online or offline surveys, order forms, or registration pages operated by third parties (collectively, a "Survey"). (As used herein, "online" means using the Internet, including the Websites, and related technologies, and "offline" means by methods other than online, including in person, in the postal mail, using telephones and cell phones, and other similar means.) In the Surveys, Colon Cleanse M.D. or a third party (a "Third Party") may ask an individual to provide various information to Colon Cleanse M.D., which may include his or her name, email address, street address, zip code, telephone numbers (including cell phone numbers and carriers), birth date, gender, salary range, education and marital status, occupation, social security number, employment information, personal and online interests, and such other information as may be requested from time to time (together, "Survey Information"). Colon Cleanse M.D. may also collect information concerning an individual from another source and uses that information in combination with information provided from this web site. Completing the Surveys is completely voluntary, and individuals are under no obligation to provide Survey Information to Colon Cleanse M.D. or Third Party, but an individual may receive incentives from Colon Cleanse M.D. or a Third Party in exchange for providing Survey Information to Colon Cleanse M.D..
    1.2 Third Party List Information.
Colon Cleanse M.D. collects information from individuals when an individual provides information to a third party and Colon Cleanse M.D. subsequently purchases, licenses, or otherwise acquires the information from the third party (the "Seller"). Such purchased information may include, but is not limited to, an individual's name, email address, street address, zip code, telephone numbers (including cell phone numbers and carriers), birth date, gender, salary range, credit card information, education and marital status, occupation, industry of employment, personal and online interests, and such other information as the individual may have provided to the Seller (together, "Third Party List Information"). When acquiring Third Party List Information, Colon Cleanse M.D. seeks assurances from the Seller that the Seller has a right to transfer the Third Party List Information to Colon Cleanse M.D. and that the Seller has a right to provide offers from advertisers to the individuals whose personal information is included on the Seller's list.
    1.3 Other Information.
Other occasions when Colon Cleanse M.D. obtains information from individuals include (1) when an individual is making a claim for a prize or seeking to redeem an incentive offered by Colon Cleanse M.D. or by a third party, (2) when an individual requests assistance through Colon Cleanse M.D.'s customer service department, and (3) when an individual voluntarily subscribes to a Colon Cleanse M.D. service or newsletter (together, "Other Information").
1.4 Cookies, Web Beacons, and Other Info Collected Using Technology.
Colon Cleanse M.D. currently uses cookie and web beacon technology to associate certain Internet-related information about an individual with information about the individual in our database. Additionally, Colon Cleanse M.D. may use other new and evolving sources of information in the future (together, "Technology Information").
    (a) Cookies.
A cookie is a small amount of data stored on the hard drive of the individual's computer that allows Colon Cleanse M.D. to identify the individual with his or her corresponding data that resides in Colon Cleanse M.D. 's database. You may read more about cookies at http://cookiecentral.com. Individuals who use the Websites need to accept cookies in order to use all of the features and functionality of the Websites.
    (b) Web Beacons.
A web beacon is programming code that can be used to display an image on a web page (by using an <img src="x"> programming function -- see http://truste.org for more information), but can also be used to transfer an individual's unique user identification (often in the form of a cookie) to a database and associate the individual with previously acquired information about an individual in a database. This allows Colon Cleanse M.D. to track certain web sites an individual visits online. Web beacons are used to determine products or services an individual may be interested in, and to track online behavioral habits for marketing purposes. For example, Colon Cleanse M.D. might place, with the consent of a third party website, a web beacon on the third party's website where fishing products are sold. When Joe, an individual listed in Colon Cleanse M.D.'s database, visits the fishing website, Colon Cleanse M.D. receives notice by means of the web beacon that Joe visited the fishing site, and Colon Cleanse M.D. would then update Joe's profile with the information that Joe is interested in fishing. Colon Cleanse M.D. may thereafter present offers of fishing related products and services to Joe. In addition to using web beacons on web pages, Colon Cleanse M.D. also uses web beacons in email messages sent to individuals listed in Colon Cleanse M.D.'s database.
    (c) New Technology.
The use of technology on the Internet, including cookies and web beacons, is rapidly evolving, as is Colon Cleanse M.D.'s use of new and evolving technology. As a result, Colon Cleanse M.D. strongly encourages individuals to revisit this policy for any updates regarding its use of technology.
    1.5 Outside Information.
Colon Cleanse M.D. may receive information about individuals from third parties or from other sources of information outside of Colon Cleanse M.D. including information located in public databases ("Outside Information").
    1.6 Individual Information.
As used herein, Individual Information means Survey Information, Third Party List Information, Other Information, Technology Information, and Outside Information, and any other information Colon Cleanse M.D. gathers or receives about individuals.
1.7 No Information Collected from Children.
Colon Cleanse M.D. will never knowingly collect any personal information about children under the age of 13. If Colon Cleanse M.D. obtains actual knowledge that it has collected personal information about a child under the age of 13, that information will be immediately deleted from our database. 1.8 Credit Card Information.
Colon Cleanse M.D. may in certain cases collect credit card numbers and related information, such as the expiration date of the card ("Credit Card Information") when an individual places an order from Colon Cleanse M.D.. When the Credit Card Information is submitted to Colon Cleanse M.D., such information is encrypted and is protected with SSL encryption software. Colon Cleanse M.D. will use the Credit Card Information for purposes of processing and completing the purchase transaction, and the Credit Card Information will be disclosed to third parties only as necessary to complete the purchase transaction.

If email recipients wish to end their email subscription from a particular list, they need to follow the instructions at the end of each email message to unsubscribe from the particular list.
    2.2(a) Content of Email Messages.
In certain commercial email messages sent by Colon Cleanse M.D., an advertiser's name will appear in the "From:" line but hitting the "Reply" button will cause a reply email to be sent to Colon Cleanse M.D.. 2.4 Direct Mail and Telemarketing.
Colon Cleanse M.D. uses Individual Information to advertise, directly or indirectly, to individuals using direct mail marketing or telemarketing using telephones and cell phones.
    2.5 Use of Technology Information.
Colon Cleanse M.D. uses Technology Information (1) to match a person's Survey Information and Third Party List Information to other categories of Individual Information to make and improve profiles of individuals, (2) to track a person's online browsing habits on the Internet, (3) to determine which areas of Colon Cleanse M.D.'s web sites are most frequently visited.
