Got a call at work for a debt paid off over two years ago. She then contacted my supervisor and HR department telling them the police would be at work in an hour to pick me up. They were told if they contacted me again that the company would file charges against them. That didn't stop they are calling everyone with my last name stating the same BS. I have spoken with many friends that attorneys and advised me to take action. I may contact the attorney generals office at the very least. Any ideas I am open to any suggestions to stop the harrassment. Thanks

They have numerous similar complaints, often including threats of arrest or prosecution, and pretending to be a law firm.

Debt is paid off, so it's not owed.
    Numerous violations of FDPCA, including:
    1)  Pretending to be a law firm.
    2)  Threatening to have you arrested or prosecuted.
    3)  Failing to notify you of the debt in writing, and of your right to dispute it.
    4)  Third party disclosure.
    5)  Evading validation by hiding their location.

Attempting to obtain money through illegal threats, including physical threats, is extortion.
File a fraud and extortion complaint with your local police.

Also contact FTC and your state Attorney General.

How much information did they have on the debt, or did they fish it out of you, and con you into thinking that what the debt they were collecting?
Who was it originally owed to, and who did you pay it to?
I assume that you know or are related to some of the other people they are calling.  What are they telling them?  Are they claiming you owe it, or they owe it?
    Any address?
