Some man with what I believe to be an Indian accent claiming to work for a collection agency for an online payday loan center started calling my cell phone about 2months ago stating I was going to be arrested and put in jail for 9 months if I did not pay a certain amount ONLINE within 2 hours. Idiot I live in AMERICA and here you can't put anyone in jail without first taking them to court!! (for a bill anyway) I have changed my cell phone number 3 times and now they are calling my place of business. First off...I have NEVER received a payday loan online or otherwise!! After receiving 3 calls on my job within 15 minutes all from a different number, my boss felt something was not right. He then took the number from the 4th call (877-851-5518) and when we looked it up...it IS listed as a number connected to this exact scam. HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM INTERFERING WITH MY JOB??

    I have been receiving, and I actually paid them off and they said prove it....I went to Police and report was made and now have to contact dozen agencys as this is fraud...The feds are presently working on the case and hope they are caught soon.

    Eric good luck and I hope they are caught too.  THey have been scamming people for well over a year that I'm aware of.  These are bad people.  They need to be stopped.  Why can't these telephone numbers be traced.  This number should be halted from use, these phone numbers are their vice to scare people and take money that doesn't belong to them.

    Keep us all posted if you should hear more.  I hope one day to read a post they are behind bars.

    I have been receiving phone calls from 877-851-5518 also and on top of that they have called me with my own work number as I am sitting at my desk at work. Other numbers that they have used are 866-7929306, 911, +92362 and 469-278-4298. They are threatening to put me in Jail and ask where they can come and pick me up. I know these are scams but the calls are irritating and on top of that they have even called my parents phone number.

    IS there anything that can be done about this???
